Brief Description : Sloanes of Uppingham are looking to recruit an apprentice hairdresser to join their team in their busy salon in Uppingham.
Qualifications Required : You will need a minimum of three GCSEs which must include English and maths at grades 9 – 4, , or equivalent .
Vacancy Detail : • General Upkeep of the salon, cleaning and sweeping floors.
• Making tea and coffee for clients
• Reception duties
• Progression into hairdressing, Blow drys, Shampooing and Conditioning.
• Progression into up do’s and sets.
• Supporting the salon in daily tasks
• Participating in any in-house training sessions.
Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm - Monday in college
Salary : £160.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : You must be hardworking, pro-active, reliable, punctual, motivated and willing to work as part of a Team. Must be well presented, bubbly and confident, able to work well on their own initiative, and be professional at all times.
Skills Required : You will be required to have good communication and social skills and have a desire for a career in the hairdressing industry.
Must be able to get to the employers location
Future Prospects : Possibility of progression and a permanent position
Training to be Provided : Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals, Functional Skills in English and maths (if required). You will also study a range of topics including: Consultation, Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp, Styling and finishing hair, Colouring, Cutting, Perming
Other Information : The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their apprenticeship.
The NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.
